CommentsI wish you the best and a grand adventure. im so jealous. my dream was to be an archaeologist and do what your doing. to hold something untouched by humans for hundreds of years is something there is no words for. if only the discovered artifact could speak, what a grand adventurous tale it could tell.

Commentsi come up to Melburne as much as possible to the beach, mom has a house there, your ship has been very interesting to me I've seen it several times now just wish you would have moved it when I was on the beach. How can I become a visitor to your ship?
CommentsWe love looking at your interesting ship ... wish you were a bit closer to our house - can you move about 8 houses to your south :o) Happy hunting!
CommentsHey! Your rig is sitting right at my beach this very moment. If you'll be here for a bit, I could help... for free (I'm 20-- no special treasure skills or anything.. but I learn quick)-- it just seems extremely exciting. Once I saw your boat up north off of A1A I bought a metal detector. All I've gotten so far are pull tabs and a quarter :D Good luck!!!!
CommentsGreat info! I live in Crystal Lakes, so you're at our beach now. I write our community newsletter and found so much info on your site, so I'm referring everyone to visit it. Very cool work - good to have you as neighbors for a while!
CommentsJune 22,2007 Good morning My wife and I observed your craft from the beach last ning and was greeted with friendly Toot. You have a wonderful task and a great website. I sometimes walk the beach adjacent to where you are presently located with a metal detector and occasionally find pieces of metal similar to what you have found. In fact one peice was of rusted pure iron which I am told was probably ballast. One of my neighbors who because of age no longer beachcombs has some remarkable artifacts that he found years ago down near Sebastin Inlet, rings, coins, and even a padres crusifix. I hope you find some valuable treasures as it must be the ultimate high for you, like Neil Armstrongs first step on the moon.I would like to locate the heavy iron core, I found last year which I foolishly threw into the dune by our beach access and give it to you. Keep up your wonderful research and God Bless America. MGBOB
CommentsAmelia Research and the Polly L. are both used as major scenes in my just published novel, "Surfing Treasure's Wake". As an investor in Amelia Research I have visited the Polly L. a number of times and have used what I have learned in my fictional novel. My novel is now available from Amazon.com. A synopsis of "Surfing Treasure's Wake" follows. In 1715, the Spanish galleon San Miguel is caught in a hurricane. Isabella Rojas and her six children desperately pray to God as black water rushes across the wooden decks. She binds each child to a knotted rope before being swept overboard. Each child drowns, their weight finally pulling Isabella beneath the stormy seas where they rest, waiting to be released from their watery graves. Over 200 years later, sixteen-year-old Marc encounters the ghost of Isabella while surfing. Along with Sponge Bob, a retired treasure hunter, they try to solve Isabella’s legend. Then a tragic loss forces Marc to face his reality, as he discovers the secret treasure that he’s been searching for all along. Surfing Treasure's Wake is set in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It is a fictional novel of a young man who is searching for his father who abandoned Marc and his mother when he was twelve after a horrible accident. Along the way Marc meets and is befriended by an older man, Sponge Bob, who together try to resolve the mystery of Isabella and her six doomed children. Surfing, treasure hunting, ghosts and the local color and history of Amelia Island set the stage for Surfing Treasure's Wake.
